COMPETITION |
The ‘Elizabeth Paterson International
Student of the Year Award’ program asks international
students to
offer their insights into the study-in-Canada experience. They must do
this by
writing a one-page letter telling family or friends what it's like to
study in
Canada, what they see as the advantages of their Canadian academic
career, and
their achievements so far.
The ‘International Student of the Year’ will be selected based upon the
information provided in the letter as well as its freshness, creativity
and
energy. Given that many of the students will not be native English or
French
speakers, grammar and style will not be evaluated. Applicants
are
also invited to include 1-2
photos with their letter to help illustrate their message.
The ‘Elizabeth Paterson International Student of the Year’ will receive
a $500
cash prize. In
addition,
a silver honourable mention will
receive a $200 cash prize and a bronze honourable mention will receive
a $100
cash prize. The Elizabeth Paterson International Student of the
Year and honorable
mentions will be recognized in CBIE media. |

| HOW TO ENTER |
| To enter, simply write a 'letter home' in English or
French, explaining
how you are making the most of your time in Canada. Write the letter as
if it
was for someone in your home country - either a relative, a friend, a
sponsor,
a former teacher or mentor, or someone else you want to share your
experience
with. In the letter, explain the ways in which you are benefiting from
your
time in Canada. For example, maybe you have developed new interests
since
coming to Canada, overcome challenges or achieved a personal ambition.
If you
wish, you may include one or two photos from your experience to help
the
recipient visualize the experience you are describing.
