CBIE Chapters welcome new members.
CBIE Chapters comprise colleagues in the same profession or with similar interests who wish to meet and communicate to enrich their knowledge of their field, share insights, set standards, discuss issues and suggest resolutions, and who wish to be represented on the governing Board of Directors in order to ensure that their voice is heard in setting CBIE directions.
Current Chapters are:
- International Student Advisory (International Student Advisers, Deans of Student Services)
- Exchange/Mobility (Education Abroad Advisers and Managers)
- Internationalization and Institutional Development (Vice-Presidents and Directors of International Education or with International Policy/Project Responsibilities, usually institution-wide or affecting the institution broadly, including International Centre Directors)
- ESL/FLS Instructors/Administrators (English and French as a Second Language Teachers, Managers, School Directors)
- Recruitment, Marketing, Admissions (International Student Recruiting Officers, International Education Marketers, Registrars, Admissions Directors and Staff)
- NEW: Alumni and Friends - established in 2006, this Chapter welcomes those about to leave or who have left their work in international education but who wish to stay connected to CBIE news and colleagues
Membership in Chapters:
Each CBIE member (voting and non-voting) may join one or more Chapters of their choice according to their professional responsibilities, of which up to two will be selected as a recognized affiliations. Members will run for and vote for the executive for their affiliation chapters only. However, members have the right to refrain from joining any Chapter at all. Non-members of CBIE are not admissible.
