Health Insurance
For Regular Scholarship Students
CBIE provides comprehensive medical health insurance for all sponsored Libyan-North American scholarship students in the United States In cooperation with Sobel Associates through Aetna. Detailed information regarding plan benefits - which starts effective your date of arrival in the United States - will be made available in the Orientation Manual which will be distributed to you as a hard copy as you begin your scholarship (also available electronically here). New students receive medical insurance after a File Number has been assigned. It may take up to ten business days for an insurance card to arrive in the mail, however Aetna can provide a temporary card if necessary. To obtain a temporary card, please call Aetna at 1-800-231-7729 and quote group policy number GP-299670, or follow the instructions provided on the website prepared by Sobel Associates.
Any changes to your insurance profile must be made through CBIE. Please complete the appropriate form for the change you would like to make and email it along with any accompanying documents to Mr. James McCallum (jmccallum@cbie.ca).

For Self-funded Scholarship Students
Health insurance is an entitlement for the primary scholarship student only and is paid by CBIE directly to the student's institution, through the university's health insurance plan.
