Why Canada?

Diversity

Canada ranks among the most multicultural nations in the world, with one out of three Canadians having an ethnic background other than English, French or Aboriginal. Regardless of ethnic origin, students feel at home in our diverse communities and campuses. The Canadian identity stems from its diverse languages and a culture that has its roots in European colonization combined with a Native American influence.

Libyan students coming to Canada will experience a secure, peaceful, multi-cultural environment in cities and towns with people who are friendly and interested in learning about other cultures. Canadian experts are recognized leaders in the field of immersion programs. Almost all of the world's ethnic groups are represented in Canada.

Quality of life

Canada offers a quality of life that is recognized worldwide. The United Nations consistently ranks Canada as one of the top places in the world to live. From safe neighbourhoods in some of North America's most cosmopolitan cities, to excellent health care and public transportation systems, Canadian life exudes quality. The same is true of Canada’s higher education system.

Bilingualism

Canada has two official languages: English and French. Students may choose to study in either language or at a bilingual university. As a bilingual nation, Canada offers excellent English as a Second Language (ESL) and French as a Second Language (FSL) programs for students wishing to learn either or both languages.

Quality educational programs

Canadian universities are noted for offering the highest quality of education. A Canadian degree is recognized globally, with many well-regarded leaders in business, government and academic circles around the world having received their education in Canada. Canada welcomes around 100,000 foreign students every year.

University campuses

Canada's campuses are well-equipped with facilities such as high-volume libraries, wired for Internet residences and classrooms, sports facilities, concert halls, art galleries, student-run radio stations, newspapers and business ventures. In addition, clubs and associations representing a multitude of ethnic backgrounds are also easily accessible. International student advisors can help students get in touch with such groups.
