Current Students
As a student under the Libyan North American Scholarship Program in Canada, you will work with the staff at CBIE who will assist you in meeting your scholarship requirements. An assigned Academic Manager will be your main point of contact throughout the duration of your sponsorship. For information on “Who-to-Contact” at CBIE and to verify who is your Academic Manager, please refer to the Contact section on this website.
Registering with CBIE
In order to activate your file at CBIE upon your arrival in Canada, you should send the following documents to your Academic Manager:
Ministry Documents:
Other Documents:
-
A copy of your Libyan passport, study permit, visa and stamped date of entry into Canada. This is also required for each dependant.
-
Completed and signed Consent Form, found here
-
A voided cheque confirming the bank account in which allowances should be forwarded to CBIE, along with the completed form found here.
-
A completed Contact Information Form, found here
Upon receipt of all of the required documentation, CBIE will activate your scholarship allowances in Canada.
Students with Academic Admission
If you have met the language requirements and you have been directly admitted into your academic program in Canada, your Academic Manager will be communicating with you concerning your study plan, your sponsorship duration as well as your program of study.
Students in Intensive English Language
If you have not yet met the language requirements and you are currently enrolled in an intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program, CBIE would like to remind you that the Ministry authorizes up to 12 months to meet the language requirements, prior to beginning your academic program (for academic placement procedures, click here). If you need more than 12 months to meet the ESL requirements in Canada, CBIE will need authorization from the Ministry.
